He who totally abandons himself to God, and serves him with love and devotion, finds his spiritual body, and then enters eternal life.

When an incarnate soul cuts the knot of its attachment to the material universe, its realization corresponds to pure knowledge. It is the vision that this knowledge gives us of ourselves. Thus, when we free ourselves from the false ego through the development of true knowledge, we can see ourselves as we are, which for the embodied spiritual entity is the primordial necessity of existence. This is the revelation of self.

Lord Krishna speaks to us about the immortal and pure soul.

Know that what penetrates the whole body cannot be annihilated. None can destroy the imperishable soul.

The soul is indestructible, eternal and without measure. Only the material bodies it borrows are subject to destruction (death).

Ignorant, he who believes that the soul can kill or be killed. The wise man knows very well that it neither kills nor dies.

The soul knows neither birth nor death. Alive, it will never cease to be. Unborn, immortal, original, eternal, it never had a beginning, and never will have an end. It does not die with the body.

At the moment of death the soul puts on a new body, the old become useless, just as one discards worn clothes to put on new ones.

No weapon can split the soul, nor fire burn it. Water cannot wet it, nor the wind dry it.

The soul is indivisible and insoluble. The fire does not reach it, it cannot be dried up. It is immortal and eternal, omnipresent (in the body), unalterable and fixed.

It is said of the soul that it is invisible, inconceivable and immutable. Knowing this, you should not mourn over the body.

And even if you believe the soul endlessly taken up by birth and death (subjected to the cycle of repeated reincarnations), you have no reason to grieve.

Death is certain for those who are born, and birth certain for those who die. Since you must do your duty, you should not feel sorry for yourself.

Some see the soul, and it is an astonishing wonder to them. So also others talk about it and still others hear about it. However, there are some who, even after hearing about it, cannot conceive of it.
