Food offered to Krishna, protects us from all viruses and other forms of contamination.
The devotees of the Lord, those who follow the path of Krishna consciousness, eat only food offered to Krishna. By doing so, they are spiritually nourishing their bodies. Not only are all the consequences of their sinful acts reduced to nothing, but their bodies become immune to all forms of material contamination.
For example, during an epidemic, people are vaccinated to make them immune to the microbe. Thus, when one takes food first offered to the Lord, to Visnu or Krishna, one can resist all the attacks of the material energy. One who always does so is called
a devotee of the Lord. In this way, the Krishna-conscious man who eats only food offered to Krishna can erase all the consequences of his bad relationship with matter, and clear the path that leads to spiritual realization.
On the other hand, those who do not do this, continue to increase the volume of their sinful acts, and thus prepare another body, like that of a dog or a pig, where they will have to suffer the consequences of their sins.
Material energy is the source of all contaminations, but he who is immune to its attacks by sacred food, offered beforehand to Visnu or Krishna, escapes its attacks, while all others are victims of it, without recourse.
Various vegetable foods, cereals, vegetables, fruits..., constitute the food of man, while the animal also eats the waste products of these foods, grass and certain plants. Man, who eats animal flesh, is therefore also dependent on the production of plant food.
This is why we must learn to live more on the products of the earth than on those of our factories. The earth, in order to produce, needs rain, which is under the control of Indra, the celestial being king of the heavenly planets in the upper region of the galaxy, but also of the moon, the sun, etc., all of whom are servants of the Lord. Therefore, one must please the Lord by offering sacrifices to Him, so as not to encounter dearth. This is the natural law.
That is why we have to perform sacrifices, and especially sing the Lord's hymn “Haré Krishna”, which is recommended for the present age, if only to protect us from a shortage of food.
